Information Technology Career Opportunity – Posted 12/6/2017
Associated Software Consultants, Inc. (ASC) is an 18-person developer and marketer of software and support services for the residential, consumer and commercial lending industry. We are located right off I-71 in Middleburg Heights, an easy commute from much of Cleveland and its western suburbs. Our PowerLender® Loan Origination System (LOS) is well respected by community banks, housing agencies and specialty lenders for its flexibility, functionality and longevity. It’s a product we’re all very proud of.
ASC is a fairly typical small-company high-tech environment, usually pretty low-key, but we work with banks so occasionally we go “corporate” when necessary. Our competition is fairly stiff, but we continue to thrive as a small, privately held company.
Because we are small, our IT Department is also small. They oversee a multitude of IT tasks, from maintaining internal servers and applications to managing SSAE 16 SOC2 Type II compliant, highly-secured, cloud-hosted banking systems. Aside from managing a number of PowerLender systems, they also manage client systems and all internal applications for our sister company, PowerSeller Solutions. Both companies are growing.
At first, you would be charged with a lot of IT ‘grunt work’ as you get used to us. This would include helping maintain internal systems and servers and assisting end-users with a variety of technical support issues. Over time, you’ll get exposed to bigger challenges like helping with our annual security audits, remotely managing hosted systems and working with Linux and Linux-based admin tools. And when you start in on something, you’ll get help, without all the hassle.
And you won’t ever get bored. In practically no time you’ll be empowered to learn, help and do. If your career goals favor an exposure to a wide variety of IT tasks and projects performed in a small-company setting among like-minded people, this might be the job for you.
We pay fairly and our benefits are generous. We try to have fun and reduce the stress that can happen in a fast-paced environment. You will work until the job gets done when client systems are affected, but you won’t be working 10-12 hour days as the norm. There will be some long days from time to time, maybe an occasional all-nighter when really needed, but then we’ll let you sleep in!
So if this sounds like an opportunity that would suit you, please let us know. The application process will be rather conventional; it has to be. But we will encourage you to ask questions and take a look around. We want someone who fits in, can really help out and, like ASC, be around for a while.
Thank you for your interest.
